A Living Prayer – Alison Krauss

For the first time in my life, I don’t have everything figured out.  I always loved knowing the “sequence” my life was going to take – high school, college, marriage, buying a new house, finishing my degree, starting a family, being a stay-at-home mom.  But that’s not the path God has planned for me.  For the first time in my life, I’m living day-by-day and waiting to see the “picture” God paints for my life.  Maybe that will be here in Iowa, maybe in Missouri…I don’t know.  I’m just trusting that the plan he has for me is far greater than I can even imagine.  This song by Alison Krauss has been an encouragement to me this week – I feel lost, with no real place to call my home yet.  But…God has me in his hands and is guiding me every day.

A Living Prayer – Alison Krauss

In this world I walk alone
With no place to call my home,
But there’s one who holds my hand
Through rugged roads, through barren lands.
The way is dark, the road is steep,
But He’s become my eyes to see,
The strength to climb, my griefs to bear.
The Savior lives inside me there.

In Your love I find release,
A haven from my unbelief.
Take my life and let me be
A living prayer, my God, to Thee.

In these trials of life I find
Another voice inside my mind.
He comforts me and bids me live
Inside the love the Father gives.

In Your love I find release,
A haven from my unbelief.
Take my life and let me be
A living prayer, my God, to Thee.
Take my life and let me be
A living prayer, my God, to Thee.
